Reading Champions Introduce Their Favourite Books
Hello. We would like to introduce ourselves as your new Reading Champions. We are 13 children from Year 5 and 6 who have been chosen to help promote a love of reading across the school.
We want to:

We are looking forward to visiting your classrooms and telling you all about the exciting reading events we have planned for you!

The Football Encyclopedia “This is my favourite book because it’s all about football and I love football. It teaches you basic skills, tactics, stats and facts.” Leo. Y5
Crater Lake Evolution by Jennifer Killick “This is my favourite book. You will like it too if you like spooky books.” Harriet. Y6
For Whom The Ball Rolls by Dav Pilkey “I really like this book because it’s a comic and I love comics.“ Rose. Y6

Dog Days by Jeff Kinney“I like this book because I love Diary of a Wimpy Kid. It’s really funny and I really recommend it too.” Katie. Y5
Close Your Pretty Eyes by Sally Nicholls “I like this book because it is very creepy and spooky which is the best genre. It’s about a girl called Olivia who is about to go into her 16th home. She finally arrives and finds out that the house is haunted. Ava. Y6

Diary Of A Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney “As well as the Wimpy Kid books, I Like Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone because it is adventurous and funny.” Noah. Y5
The Lost Whale by Hannah Gold “My favourite authors are Hannah Gold, Kes Gray and Esme Higgs. I love all their books and especially my favourite, Turtle Moon.” Luella. Y6
The Hiding Place by Corrie-Ten -Boom “My favourite book is the graphic novel by Corrie-Ten -Boom (The Hiding Place) because it shows that you can trust in God in hard situations and he can help you out in anything.” Rosie. Y6
Dork Diaries by Rachel Renee Russell “I like Dork Diaries, Pop Star, because it shows you what can happen in school.” Lucy. Y5
