What is personal data?

Collecting your personal data

When you use, access or sign up to any of our services, activities, or online content, such as our E-Commerce shop, newsletters, and databases, we will receive personal information about you. If you are under 18, you must ask a parent or guardian to obtain their agreement to the privacy policy before subscribing to any newsletter or creating an online account.

Sharing your personal data

We consider the confidentiality and security of your information to be of the utmost importance. We do, however, have to share your data with some other companies, acting on our behalf, in order to ensure we give you the best possible service:

• E-Commerce provider WooCommerce to assist us in delivering transactional service via our online shop
• Marketing service provider HubSpot, to assist us in managing data and delivering our marketing strategy.
• Analytics and search engine providers that assist us in the improvement and optimisation of our site and subject to the cookie section of this policy (this will not identify you as an individual).
• We will disclose your personal information to third parties if we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our competition or promotion terms and other agreements with you; or to protect the rights, property, or safety Pop-Up Bookshop or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction and to prevent cybercrime.

Accessing your personal data

If you want to know which personal data we have about you, you can ask us for details of that personal data and for a copy of it (where any such personal data is held). This is known as a “subject access request”:
